The most important meal of the day.... Any guesses?
BREAKFAST TIME!!!
Benefits of eating in the a.m. include...
- Consuming less fat through the day
- Meeting recommendations for fruit and vegetable consumption
- Having higher daily calcium intake
- Having higher daily fiber intake
- Having better performance (memory and attention) (for school-aged children)
Ingredients:
- 1/2 a Hass avocado
- 1 egg
- Alfafa sprouts
- Rice Cake (or a slice of whole-grain bread)
- lemon juice
- salt
- pepper
What to do:
1. cook your egg on a nonstick pan (you can also use avocado or extra virgin olive oil)
2. mash the avocado with the lemon juice, salt, and pepper
3. spread the avocado mash on the rice cake
4. add the alfalfa sprouts and the egg... and VOILA!
You can add all sorts of veggies to this breakfast! Some of my favorites include tomatoes and bell peppers. Remember to nourish and fuel yourself every day for the best health outcome.
